2009 Business Solutions Trade Show
|
Cautious optimism was the climate as many leading RV dealers gathered recently for three days filled with top notch retail training, incredible purchasing opportunities and networking. The beautiful Paris Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV was the setting for Stag-Parkway’s Business Solutions Trade Show, January 20-22, 2009.
The event kicked off with RV University™, ever a great training opportunity, made more valuable this year with full day workshops led by The Friedman Group, an international training organization stressing sales and service focused retailing. Each of the three workshops, aimed at either owners/general managers, experienced parts managers or new parts managers, provided reality-based methodologies for developing high-performance stores that exceed expectations. Rounded out by a selection of product seminars from top RV parts and accessories suppliers, RV University™ was a slam dunk for those who participated.
During a lunchtime keynote, Stan Sunshine, Chairman of the Board, introduced Stag-Parkway’s new President and CEO, Martin Street, who took over the reins on December 1, 2008. The two executives discussed the state of the industry and the importance of training and proper merchandising and marketing programs to survive in a difficult economic climate. That evening, the Show opened during a sumptuous preview reception that included food, entertainment and a preview of exhibitor’s booths and great show deals.
Opening session the following morning saw both suppliers and dealers awarded honors for exceptional performance during 2008. Alan Parisse, named “one of the top 21 speakers for the 21stcentury” by Successful Meetings Magazine, informed and entertained as he discussed thriving in a tough economy. Concluding the session was the announcement of the 2010 Show location – vibrant San Antonio, Texas, January 18-20.
The two expo days packed in many activities and specials with over 150 exhibitors in attendance. Stag-Parkway’s Model Store was a busy destination, along with the theatre introducing the COMPLETE Merchandising Program, the RV aftermarket’s only comprehensive retail merchandising and asset management service offering. In addition, Stag-Parkway showcased a number of business solutions with a particular emphasis on direct mail programs and MagniFinder, the complete resource for parts and service.
